DONNA JACOBS LEFORT, Ed.D.

Donna Jacobs Lefort, Ed.D.  most recently retired as Dean of the College of Education & Coordinator of Graduate Programs at the University of North Alabama, where she served from 2006 – 2017. She has over 25 years of experience in education. Immediately preceding her tenure at UNA, Dr. Lefort served five years as the Dean of the College of Education at Troy University, and served an additional ten years as a department chair and faculty member. Dr. Lefort has extensive experience in accreditation, developing academic programs, K-12 and graduate education.

Dr. Lefort earned her Doctor of Education and bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama and earned a master’s degree from the Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation from Jacksonville State University.

Dr. Lefort is a native of Decatur, Alabama and has a daughter, Allison. Her and her husband, Pierre, live in Florence, Alabama.
