After a national search for a new Vice President of Student Affairs, GateWay Community College is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Delfina Wilson, who begins the role this month. Dr. Wilson previously served as Vice President of Student Affairs at Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC).
“Dr. Wilson is a student-centered and equity-minded professional who strives to foster a community where all students, faculty, and staff feel supported and valued,” said Dr. Amy Diaz, interim president of GateWay Community College. “Her extensive professional experience in higher education will serve GateWay well.”
With over fifteen years of leadership experience in higher education, Dr. Wilson’s professional resume spans academics, workforce development, and student affairs. Before serving as the Vice President of Student Affairs at KCKCC, Dr. Wilson also served as the Dean of Enrollment Management & Student Services at the college and was instrumental in developing their strategic enrollment management plan.
“I am honored to have this opportunity to be a part of the exciting work happening at GateWay and to lead such a dynamic team in the Student Affairs Division,” said Dr. Wilson. “I am passionate about ensuring that all members of GateWay’s student community live and function in a safe and comfortable environment where they can learn and grow.”
Dr. Wilson holds a master’s degree in Educational Psychology and a Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in Community College Leadership from Mississippi State University. To read her full bio, please click here.
